All English Sonnets
Have you seen Batote on leeward side
Of “Pattni” top so closely which it hugs
Like startled damsel, newly wedded bride,
Enwrapped, so mutely hugs the bridal rugs.
My Pammi once did in this place reside,
And end of journey for me it became
And to this dame of hills I always came
To spend a few moments with my future bride.
Then felt I like some falcon on the prowl,
When with gigantic purpose it does soar,
But to-day when I see this hilly bowl
I find it barren, lifeless, empty, sore.
For people not the places are my goal
And Pammi in this heaven stays no more.
