Lalit Katha Award Ceremony & Theatre Extravaganza
KVM Trust in association with J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages organized Lalit Katha which was a tri-lingual short story writing competition organized by the Trust to encourage young minds in exploring their talent in writing. The awards were awarded to the winners of the competition that were held amongst 40 schools across Jammu city.
Adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous play, ‘Twelfth Night’ in Hindi by young director Aarushi Thakur. The play aimed to make art relevant to today’s generation and to introduce world literature into cultural ethos of Jammu.
Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Puraskar
Ms. Saroj Bala was the proud recipient of Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Puraskar 2017. The young writer won the award for an anthology of Dogri Short stories ‘Sochen di Gehrai’. The award, instituted by Dogri Sanstha and sponsored by Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust carries Rs.11,000 cash, a memento and citation to encourage the budding writers to create quality literature in Dogri language . The books published during the last four years preceding the Award year, are considered for Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Puraskar.
The award was presented to Ms Saroj Bala at a glittering function held jointly by Santha and KVM Trust on 8th Sept 2017 at Abhinav Theatre Jammu .
Last year Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Puraskar was conferred on Mr. Pankaj Gupta for his book ‘Keengare Da Rukh’.

- • Ghar: Ek Prem ki Gaggar
Kathak dance production ‘Ghar: Prem Ki Gaagar’ conceptualized by Sanchita Abrol in collaboration with Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust. The dance drama wass based on Kunwar Viyogi’award-winningng poetry Ghar and portrayed the intrinsic nature of love. The physical and emotional aspects have forever been connected and represent divine law. The spiritual aspect is embodied in the imagery of courage, beautifully powerful, the depth of which forms desire that guides human interaction in love. Eternally present, love never dissipates in humanity that comprehends its intrinsic nature. “The heart always finds its home in love.”
- • Kavita Sang Yaar Beli
Young poet Ayushman Jamwal and Prof. Lalit Magotra brought, “Kavita Sang Yaar Beli: Tales of the Soul “ a poetry symposium celebrating life and the power of verse. The symposium showcased how universal human aspiration and values transcend language and time. It was a unique effort to bring talented wordsmiths on a common platform and demonstrate the strength of expression.
- • Jashn – e- Viyogi
Renowned Dogri singers Jitender Singh Jamwal and Sonali Dogra lent voice to sonnets and ghazas, penned beautifully by Kunwar Viyogi. Centered on the theme of unrequited love and friendship, ghazals like “Dil mera tote tote’’ and “Rasam Rivaz” composed by renowned Composer Brij Mohan mesmerized the audience with its sublime poetry and soul rendering music. The ghazals brought to life many facets of Kunwar Viyogi’s life, his journey as a par excellence writer and devotion to his wife and muse Prem Jamwal.
