‘ALPVIRAM’ THE PAUSE’
Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust unfolds its fifth Art Chapter ‘ALPVIRAM’ THE PAUSE, a virtual art exhibition showcasing handpicked artists from across the country. Aptly titled “THE PAUSE” these COVID times have harbingered new ways of showcasing art. Since our humble beginnings, the concept of providing platform to artists in their unique expression and language has been an ongoing endeavour. Each year brings forth new sets of potentials and challenges. Across 2020 calendar, unprecedented as humanity came to a grinding halt with COVID.
All events stood stalled and cancelled, so did months of planning and hard-work. Interestingly the new challenge carried its own answers and has opened immense vistas. -
‘Indo-US Poetry Symposium’ is an initiative of Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust to unite poets of different languages, ages and communities in a unique exchange of ideas and art. Poets are encouraged to share their work and highlight their creative process that allows them to mine their souls.
‘ Indo-US Poetry Symposium’ promotes expression that sheds light on the timeless human condition, spoken in different languages and imagined in different and vivid ways. Not only does it give a platform to a diverse group of artists, it builds bridges between writers, enlightening them with other cultural art forms and visions. The forum is a treat for writers, allowing them to hone their craft and expand their creative arsenal. -
Kunwar Viyogi Annual Lecture endeavours to invite prominent personalities to drive debate on social, political and cultural challenges and to share their vision of shaping a more equitable, enhanced and evolved world. It encourages people to enter into dialogue and break new ground for collective well being. -
Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Kala Samaan is awarded to iconic cultural stalwarts whose contribution goes beyond great writing, creative art, music or theatre- in making Dogri alive, vibrant and available to the world. A Dogri icon whose cultural ethos and depth of thought is cultivated from the region known for its kindness, peace, patriotism and divinity.Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Kala Samaan is bestowed on distinguished personalities who have dedicated themselves to their craft, language, region and expanded the reach and flavour of being an indomitable Dogra or perhaps – one who has taken the fragrance of ‘Dogri and Dogra Spirit’ far and wide through translation, drama, cinema, TV, digitalisation, musical adaptation, experimentation and innovation.

Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust in association with the Department of Dogri and Department of English, University of Jammu has instituted three scholarships namely, ‘Kunwar Viyogi Merit Scholarship‘, ‘Prem Jamwal Kunwar Viyogi Merit Scholarship‘ and ‘Kunwar Viyogi Research Scholarship‘.‘Kunwar Viyogi Merit Scholarship’ and ‘Prem Jamwal Kunwar Viyogi Merit Scholarship’ are awarded to a male and a female topper of MA Dogri and English, University of Jammu.
